What is Speakwise?

Speakwise is an AI note taker, AI voice recorder and voice-to-text transcription app for iPhone, with an Apple Watch app too. Tap once to record an in-person meeting, interview, lecture or voice note. All you need is your iPhone, with no bot to invite and no video call to set up. Speakwise turns the audio into text (speech to text in 100+ languages) and shows who said what (speaker identification). Then it writes your AI meeting notes: a summary with key points, decisions and action items.

  • Platform: iOS 17.0 or later, available through the Apple App Store. The App Store listing is localized in more than 30 languages.
  • Launched: November 2025, updated continuously since

  • App Store: Speakwise - AI Note Taker on the App Store

What does Speakwise do?

Tap record on your iPhone, and Speakwise captures in-person meetings, interviews, lectures and voice notes. Recording keeps going with the screen off, for up to 5 hours in one recording, with no daily limits. Then Speakwise turns the audio into text. Transcription accuracy is 95%+ in optimal audio conditions and 92%+ in noisy rooms with several speakers.

Next, the AI writes your meeting notes: a summary with key points and decisions, plus action items. Speakwise can also send your recordings to a Notion database automatically, so there is no copy and paste.

Pick the summary template that fits your work. Each template has an adjustable detail level, from a one-line takeaway to a full report. You can re-summarize a recording with a different template.

  • Meeting notes & actions: discussion, decisions, action items and open questions.
  • Lecture & study notes: concepts, key facts, examples and exam points.
  • Interview: answers by theme, quotes, strengths and follow-ups.
  • Site & inspection report: findings by area, safety issues and required actions.
  • Clinical session note: subjective, objective, assessment and plan.
  • Legal file note: parties, facts, positions and deadlines.
  • Sales recap: needs, objections, commitments and next steps.
  • Personal memo: main thoughts, ideas to keep and to-dos.
  • Custom: you describe who the summary is for.

Speakwise also transcribes audio you already have. Import audio files (m4a, mp3 or wav), or share a voice memo or audio file from another app to Speakwise. You get a transcript, an AI summary and action items back. On iOS 18 and later, Apple’s built-in Voice Memos app can transcribe in some languages. Speakwise also gives you speaker labels, AI summaries, action items and 100+ languages, and it runs on iOS 17 and later.

Recording works offline. Record with no internet, and Speakwise transcribes when you are back online. Start hands-free from the iPhone Action Button or Control Center. On Apple Watch, start and stop recordings from your wrist, and they sync to your iPhone for transcription. You can also record through AirPods, Bluetooth earbuds, or external USB-C and wireless microphones.

Custom Words help Speakwise get names and jargon right. In Settings, add up to 100 names, brands and terms, such as people’s names, company names and jargon. Speakwise listens for them when it transcribes.

Need to fix a misheard name or word? Find & Replace does it in one step. It updates the transcript, the summary and the action items together. It shows how many places will change before you confirm, and you can undo it. It can also add the corrected word to your Custom Words.

Once you have a transcript, you can search inside it and filter it by speaker. Every recording also has a Notes section for your own notes. Your notes sync, export and show on share links.

Export any transcript or summary as a PDF, a Word file (.docx) or plain text (.txt). You can also save it to Apple Notes, or send it by email or text. Or share a link that opens the summary, transcript and action items in a browser.

What is speaker diarization?

Speaker diarization (also called speaker identification or speaker labels) means the transcript shows who said what. Instead of one long block of text, each line has a speaker label, such as “Speaker 1” or “Speaker 2”. With Speakwise you can:

  • Name the speakers: rename “Speaker 1” and “Speaker 2” to real names. The transcript updates, and the app offers to rewrite the summary and action items with the names.
  • Add speaker identification to a recording you already made.
  • Filter the transcript by speaker.

Who is Speakwise for?

Speakwise is made for people who need notes from conversations that happen in the room:

  • On-site and field work: construction site leads, building inspectors, property managers, field service and trades. Capture site notes, inspection findings and follow-ups right where you are standing. The Site & inspection report template turns them into findings by area, safety issues and required actions.
  • Client-facing professionals: consultants, executive coaches and workshop facilitators, financial advisors, solo attorneys, account managers and field sales reps. Walk out of a client meeting with the follow-up already written. Solo attorneys can use the Legal file note template, and sales reps can use the Sales recap template.
  • Clinicians: therapists, doctors, dentists, veterinarians and psychiatrists who dictate or record with patient consent and want a structured note before the next appointment. The Clinical session note template covers subjective, objective, assessment and plan.
  • Boards and committees: board secretaries and minute-takers for HOAs, nonprofits, schools, churches and clubs. Run the meeting and still leave with the notes written. The Meeting notes & actions template covers discussion, decisions, action items and open questions.
  • Recruiters, journalists and researchers: on-site interviews, candidate debriefs and fieldwork. Transcribe an interview with every speaker labeled, then use the Interview template for answers by theme, quotes, strengths and follow-ups.
  • Students and educators: record lectures on iPhone and get lecture & study notes (concepts, key facts, examples and exam points) instead of a raw recording.
  • Anyone in in-person meetings: founders, managers and working professionals who want meeting transcription and AI meeting notes from conversations in the room, not on a video call. Speakwise also turns voice memos on iPhone into searchable text, and the Personal memo template covers your main thoughts, ideas to keep and to-dos.

What users say

Verbatim 5-star reviews from the US App Store:

Lot of apps can be messy to jump into - Speakwise is very straight forward to use. I did mess up on speaker identification setup but Timo responded immediately and showed me an (obvious) button I forgot to click. Even when asking about mic compatibility, Timo went above and beyond in getting the same mics and testing it deeply, pushing an update to work around the iOS limitations and sent me a very detailed review of the work. These are the types of developers I’m extremely glad to see and am even happier to support. It’s a rare combo for an excellent product and an owner who eagerly seeks user feedback and iterates.
empiretown, 5 stars, “Straightforward app, not clouded by buttons and very responsive dev”, August 2026
I have a horrible memory. I can have conversations and it’s in one ear and out the other. … having a transcript of a conversation with businesses and consultants is great to fall back on. The ability to synthesize a long running conversation to get the highlights or action items after the fact is an immeasurable service for me. I’m using this app all the time.
KBinNR, 5 stars, “Missing Superpower You Didn’t Know You Needed”, June 2026
Was looking for a way to record my 2h in-person team meeting. This does the job. Even works when the display is off. Great.
cosmos.xyz, 5 stars, “Simple but reliable”, April 2026
Speakwise is so easy to use and very handy when you are in meetings that you need to focus on the conversation vs listening and taking notes! Highly recommend using this app.
High Handicap, 5 stars, “Excellent App”, March 2026
